| [General] Phone.com??
I ran across this voip service »www.phone.com/ and never heard anything about them, good or bad. Anyone heard of them? Does anyone use them? Are they a good Voip Service?

| Didn't see any replies so I thought I'd poke around. Here's the easy stuff:
Registrant: Phone.com Acquisition Group, LLC 123 Newbury Street Second Floor Boston, MA 02116 US
Administrative Contact , Technical Contact : Miller, Andrew amiller@internetrealestate.com 123 Newbury Street Boston, MA 02116 US Phone: 6174070889
Record expires on 09-Mar-2018 Record created on 23-Jun-2007
The prices for residential are about on par for most VOIP providers. No surprises. They boldly print 24/7 customer support so I clicked on the "chat" button to ask what adapter they use. The rep, "Danielle", was very, very nice but after I asked the question, she responded she'd look it up and in a minute or so click! I was disconnected.
Very little on the internet about them (well, actually NOTHING) so if you do try them out, make sure you post a review here for us to read.
Additionally, 123 Newbury St. seems to be a shopping center. Phone.com is on the 2nd floor of the building. Andrew Miller, mentioned as the registrant of phone.com also runs Quattro Wireless and was a senior vice president of mQube before Verisign bought them out.
Positive: they aren't Florida based Positive: they seem to be run by successful business people Negative: can't find any |

1 edit | reply to Nizmo said by Nizmo :Why being not a Florida based is positive? Florida seems to be where most fly by night VOIP operations tend to set up shop and bomb (and hide). It's a liberal state in terms of prosecuting things like fraudulent telemarketing. In the past, I've looked up VOIP providers are that get a lot of complaints with Florida being a primary state for VOIP complaints, it seems in my experience. Please reply if you disagree, as a native Southerner I'm not dissing Florida simply because I live in another part of the US now. Also note that I made positive comments about the execs at phone.com having successful previous business experience. |
