I am getting 5.1 mbits down to 6.1 mbits down all the time. The up varies from 500k to 2.8 mbits -- not sure why such a variance. But is quite nice. The Weston Place tower is high up as well. They have another tower that if its 40 feet of the ground that would be a miracle. In general a well thought out plan that really is nice to avoid having multiple telco's (i.e. AT&T) to point to when DSL fails. It should be a pretty decent option for most people. If anyone is interested I could take pictures of the roof install, and brick on the inside.
The tower is on their fiber ring so its quite fast unlike a bunch of bonded T-1's...
I'd like to see the pics. Charter just rolled out 16/2 service for the same price as TDSs new WIMAX. I went back to Charter. The first week on 16MB has been a delight. Even at peak night hours my latency is great. I really did like TDS, but Charter is the clear cut winner in Madison right now(imo). This is the last night on my TDS connection
