| Latest firmware for HomePortal 1000SW
Hi,
I have 2Wire HomePortal 1000SW DSL modem that I got when I was with At&T in Texas. I have moved to Washington now and am with Qwest now. I can not find the latest firmware file for 1000SW so that I can upgrade it so that it works on qwest also. I emailed 2wire customer support and they said they cant provide the firmware because my isp would give it to me. I called At&t and they wont give it to me because im no longer a customer with them. I called qwest and they would not help me because this modem is not covered in their services.... So Im totally at a loss over here. I am using actiontec m1000 modem from qwest temporarily unless i get this issue resolved.
If any one has latest firmware upgrade for 1000SW (the .2sp file), please give it to me so that I can do a local upgrade.?
Without the upgrade 1000sw does not work with qwest dsl service in Seattle.
Thank you. |

| You will not need a firmware upgrade to use it with another provider.
1. Run the system setup wizard »home/setup 2. enter the system password if prompted 3. on the keycode screen enter 5225-2374-WG62-22AS-BJ7P (manual setup) 4. select PPPoA for authentication , VPI/VCI 0/32 , and Routed VC-MUX , Also enter in your PPP username / password 5. Once the middle light goes solid green you should have internet connectivity |

@qwest.net | reply to codekhan I have tried manual setup with the settings you specified. It doesnt even find the signal.
It just keeps saying: STATUS: Physical connection search
I am using QWEST DSL service in Bellevue, Washington. |

| It looks like you have the 2wire configured correctly for your isp, the 2wire can't find the dsl signal and it's searching the inner and outer pairs for the dsl signal.
I'm thinking the 2wire is broken, as a last test connect the 2wire at the nid. |

join:2007-03-06 Beverly Hills, CA | codekhan, That file in question is firmware for a BT 2000 series gateway and will not work on your gateway. Since you do not have access to the NID you may want to use another DSL modem to see if you get sync. If not I would contact your ISP. |

| I have used another dsl modem to connect to the internet and am using this modem in bridged mode, after being in bridged mode the modem does get internet connectivity through the lan cable from other dsl modem. It shows me the upgrade available icon on main page but fails to upgrade. Tries to load this page which fails: »gateway.2wire.net/net/stat/statu···U7ixeNI5
Thanks |

| reply to ColonelPanic I downloaded and flashed firmware 3.5.15 from bellsouth website and now I am able to connect to internet.
But I still have one more problem. My dsl package is 1.5 Mbps but in 2wire router it connects at around 1120 kpbs.. how can i connect at the full speed? |
