[Phone ]- False Advertising

Insight advertises the phone service for $25. I was quoted around $30 with 911 charge and taxes. My bill is over $37.00. Seems as though there is a $6.00 line charge I wasn't told about. I'm in the process of switching to CityNet. We use their service at the office. They also offer $25, but should be under $30 with taxes.

So you have no 911 charges or taxes in Louisville? I have cable and broadband as well.

I'll look at my bill when I get home. I may have the taxes and 911 charges but I do know on my bill where it says telephone charges it says 25.00. I have not look at the taxes part but I will when I get home and let you know.

Years ago I was a CSR for a phone company for a short time, companies are REQUIRED to charge you fees by law and they vary by where you live. However as we have noticed in the last year some companies have made crap "fees". Im not saying this is line is. Its something to atleast find out about.

Heres some info
»www.fcc.gov/cgb/consumerfacts/un···ing.html, I also suggest you call insight and ask them what they are.

It is not false advertising. There is a disclaimer that does talk about fees and taxes. There is a 6$ subscriber line fee that goes to the maint and upkeep of the phone lines around the city. Then there are the taxes that no one but the govt has control over. When your phone goes out during a storm for any reason, I am sure you will be glad you paid the line fee so that Insight has all of the needed materials to rush out there and fix it for you.

Our phone service is 41.50. We are about to go into our third year since the triple play bundle. Got a letter today saying our bill would go up $3.00 and still be discounted instead of the full price.

I everyone pays a $6 line fee then Insight should advertise $31 plus taxes and fees.
