 Question About Some Packets.

Recently I have been noticing something strange in wireshark and in my task manager.

First I noticed that whatever browser is my default browser there is an extra process in task manager for it. For instance, Firefox has been my default browser, but even when I do not have it open it is still in my processes tab on task manager. If I am using Firefox there will be The instance of Firefox I am using and also the other instance. When I try to kill the extra instance it pops right back into task manager. This extra instance uses about 3000k of memory.

Second, with wireshark running when I kill this extra instance of the browser, I notice 3 packets get sent out( my internal IP address is the source) to 88.64.1.74. It also randomly sends out a set of 3 packets when I do not try to kill the process. Another not as well, each group of 3 packets has a different destination port.

I am running Windows XP Pro SP2, on a desktop 2Gb of ram, Zone Alarm Security Suite 7.0.470.000. I also use spybot s&d and ad aware away both newest versions and most recent updates.

My thought is it might have something to do with ZA updating, but am not positive. Any help would be much appreciated.
