So I thought I had it figured out, then I started getting dropped calls again. After numerous calls between Packet8 and Motorola, there is, ultimately, no resolution. According to Packet8, it has to do with the fact that, although you can disable the wireless firewall, you can't disable the SPI firewall....the way that it performs packet inspection is what causes the problem, apparently. Interestingly, though, Packet8 says that it isn't an issue with the Linksys gateway which also has an SPI firewall. Likewise, Motorola states that there's no issue with Vonage service (who also use the Uniden VOIP base). Chalk it up to hardware incompatability and neither company is willing to do something about it. Now I have to buy a modem and wireless router and sell my wireless gateway. What a bunch of crap. |
