Anyone else have this issue? I just noticed I'm having a problem, is anyone aware of a firmware update...or if Shaw can supply another modem? If it comes down to it I'd buy another modem from another company, if Shaw will let me..
Really sucks subscribing to something and not getting the speeds I pay for -- ~~Desu |

No issues here, I subscribe as well and always get maxed downloads. |

"Motorola Surfboard series modem owners read here.
There is a known issue with the Motorola Surfboard series modem in how it handles the uncapped bandwidth on FilePlanet. Yes, you say to yourself "I get fast downloads at other sites". While this may be true, each site uses different data transfer methods and it is a known issue with this modem that speeds on FilePlanet drop to 200 kbs or less on this modem. Not in all cases, but some." |

| Same link. Doesn't give us any information, because...
"Your support portal session has expired due to inactivity and the requested action has not been completed. If you entered data in the previous screen and would like to save it, please follow these steps."
And Shaw only offers a limited selection of modems. Due to controlling their firmwares, Shaw won't support any other modems on the network. |

| reply to lucky644 It sounds like it's a configuration error, probably on Fileplanet's side. If it's only happening with a certain type of router, and only sometimes, then it's because they're using some really unusual configuration that is, somehow, unhandled by the modem.
You could always try a power cycle of the modem and then try again. Maybe even ground the coax while it's down, just to make sure there's no additional static in the line.
Beyond that, there's not a lot that can be done, I'm afraid. If you're in the Calgary area, or anywhere else that's been converted to All Digital, the only modem that Shaw will really support are the DOCSIS. If you're in the other areas you might be able to get an older one, but they'd just swap it back for a DOCSIS network one again, when they get the network solidified in the region.
If all else fails, maybe Fileplanet will be able to do something for you, or even cancel your subscription if that's what you'd want. It's something that's really not under your control, so they might allow it as a special exception to their usual rules. |

Looks like it`s up to Fileplanet to figure something out. -- ~~Desu |
