I've had the same exact issue with ATT down in Florida. ATT restricts PORT 25. I was using ATT DSL at the house, but trying to send/receive email across my work servers. I didn't have to do anything special to receive mail, but I had to switch over to my Verizon aircard to send. I've since switched over to my local cable company (Brighthouse Networks) and I was automatically able to send...
They filter port 25 in an attempt to reduce spam mail going across their servers. In some areas you can fill out a form and ask them to remove the filter. Since I'm with the former BellSouth it didn't work for me... The forms I saw was intended more for SBC. Hopefully this won't be an issue when I switch to U-verse later this year... |
