re-using your Speedfactory-provided Hawking router

Someone posted the username and password for accessing the router. Thank you to that person.
I may be one of the first to 'stage' my router for re-use, in my case with Atlantic Nexus. I gave the username / password for the Hawking router to their tech support to use with future new (abandoned) SF customers. This procedure applies to the Hawking HAR11 or HAR14 modem router which many of us must have from 2004-2006 maybe -

1. To retune or reflash your router, get your new ISP tech support on the phone. In my case it was Atnex tech.
2. Launch IE6 [or I assume any web browser]
3. In the URL address field type your internal router address.
It is probably 10.0.0.1 [to verify, launch dos prompt and enter 'ipconfig'. It is known as Command Prompt in Accessories if you use Internet Explorer] Look at Default Gateway, that is your router internal address.
4. when you hit 'enter' from Internet Explorer with your address in the URL field -- probably 10.0.0.1, you will, after a short wait, get an id/password popup window.
5. Username = admin
Password = hawkingtech
click OK
6. This will put you into the tunable window of your router IF you have the Hawking HAR11 or HAR14.

The tech will have you change a few fields and then Save and Submit to re-flash the code in the router.

Hope this helps save some time. I won't come up with service til Wed. morning, but we expect that with this already done, my router will shake hands with the Atlantic Nexus server automatically, and Atnex network will further alter some other fields in the router automatically. And we are ready to surf!

Re: re-using your Speedfactory-provided Hawking router

My Hawking DSL modem did not have the default password so I had to press the Factory Defaults button. Then I was able to get to the admin login with user admin, pass hawkingtech. I had no manual and couldn't find one online.

I called Atlantic Nexus for info about configuring the modem but was put on hold for 15 minutes until the connection dropped. I tried email using a neighbors open WiFi. First they sent me a document of default passwords for various routers. Sorry try again. Next they sent a pdf with Windows XP screens showing configuration of XP. However, I did learn that the service name should be "Atnex" user "user@atnex.net" and password "your-atnex-password". After a lot of trial and error I finally got the Hawking HAR11 to work.

Atlantic Nexus said in an email that I was to receive their modem on Tuesday. It's now Thursday and still no modem. Good thing I decided to reconfigure the Hawking modem from Speedfactory.
