The SD channels do suck on my tv. I watched the Bruins game on VS the other night in HD and it was amazing.

I am just hoping that MSG and FSNY go HD soon (or at least by next hockey season). The only reason I didn't go Direct TV was that when you finally got all the locals and sports it was the same price as Pat Media and they wanted a 2 year signed commitment.

FWIW, I dropped Patriot over a year ago because of this and went to FiOS. They didn't carry the HD feeds either but the SD picture was far superior to Patriot's.

In January I dropped the FiOS and moved to DirecTV for the same reason you state...hi def hockey in general and the Devils in particular. The picture is fabulous on the new MPEG4 channels, acceptable on the MPEG2 HD channels and not so great on the SD channels.

I live in Whitehouse Station in Readington Township. My only options were Dish, Direct TV, and Pat Media.

I called dish and they don't offer FSNY so they were out. I talked to Direct TV and they offer MSG HD and FSNY HD but by the time you add those, the box, the local stuff you are up to $55+ a month with the $18 savings for 12 months then it goes up to over $70 for the following year. And you have to sign a two year contract or you risk a $300 cancellation fee (or something like that)

So Pat media was left. I called them and I could get the Extended Basic with an HD box for $64 a month. That would give me 80 SD channels and 22 HD channels. Problem is MSG HD and FSNY HD are not offered lol.

I honestly never really watch tv but I am a HUGE Devils fan and it is really the only thing I follow religiously. I can deal with MSG SD and FSNY SD I guess but what a pain that is for $65 a month and this beautifil new 46" HD tv.

I know I could cancel the install that is supposed to happen this Fri April 11 and go Direct TV but that two year thing and the raise in rates is such a turn off. Is there anyone that knows if Pat Media will eventually offer these? I have read all of the other posts and I know I am not the only one that wants these channels. I just can't get a clear answer if it is in the pipeline or if it will just never be offered.
