I have internet

Not with SF. I've got it now with Atlantic Nexus.

Great job guys! Keep up the good work.

Ditto. Atnex did a great job. Told me Tuesday and have me up and running this afternoon.

Did they send you an e-mail when the provisioning was complete, or did you just keep trying to log in? They told me Thursday, so I am in a holding pattern at the moment.

I was told Wednesday. I have yet to receive an email from them. I gather from my phone conversation that I would get an email that would serve as a confirmation and would have instructions. Thus far, I have nothing from them. My card has not been billed either.

No email as far as I know (I never gave them a contact email address that I remember). I realized I had service when I tried to ping the Speedfactory DNS IP posted in another topic and actually got a reply back. I don't know the Atnex DNS servers, so I plugged in one of the OpenDNS IPs on my system and whammo! I was up and running.

I have a Efficient Speedstream router and didn't have to change a thing on it. I did cycle the power and change the PPPoE info in my other wireless router though. It's possible that I may have had service for a while and didn't realize it...

I did receive an e-mail confirming my order (some hours after I placed it), although it didn't contain anything in the way of instructions. Someone else posted that the user name is xxxx@atnex.net, so I've configured my router and will probably try to connect again when I get home.

I've not received an email yet. I noticed my firewall losts PPPOE connection via SF and I changed the auth settings and rebooted. It came back up with AtNex.

Keep checking your configuration.

I placed order Friday, my line went up at probably 7AM this morning, maybe even earlier (I was sleeping). They had to remap the static-IP after it was live, but that only took one phone call.

I didn't get an e-mail or anything either, the line just came up and their service came up also with no charges to my CC and they drop-shipped me the modem on a Sunday (had someone drop it off).

I'm up!!! I traded emails with the ATT rep that posted in the thread titled "Business Continuity" and she was able to move my provisioning up a day - and at 3:30 sharp, the phone lines went dead - and when they returned 7 minutes later, I was synced up with BellSouth.

Good luck the rest of you!

I placed the order midday Saturday, and was told that on the day of the conversion I'd probably lose the brainstem-level functioning SF is still providing, then by about noon I'd have the new service. A day later, I got an e-mail confirmation/invoice saying service was scheduled to be up and running by Wednesday. As of this afternoon, I'm still served by SF (which means all pings are responded to with: Reply from 66.23.230.1: Destination host unreachable.) Hopefully tomorrow...

The tech I spoke to at AtNex claims that they are aware of the lack of confirmation emails going out, which I can completely understand given the influx of SF refuges. They promised they would get those out as soon as possible, and they are expediting all SF customers. It seems they are shooting for getting a majority of accounts up by tomorrow, but admit that it could be 2 days.

They took down the "Business Continuity" thread. Can you forward the information along?

Send me a PM thru the system. I'd hate to have this thread blocked too - apparently, that was a "direct solicitation" or something, so I'm not sure I can post it or be in violation of the same things that got her post canned.

jswaby and tg3650,

Don't wait for any notice (per se). Just re-configure your router/software/modem whatever to work with your AtNex UID and password, then check it once an hour. Certainly don't be checking your SF email - that's still cut off from the outside, isn't it?

Late Sunday afternoon we called to get AtNex. I immediately set my house LAN router to their new UID/password. AtNex told me "it'll be Wednesday at the latest, hopefully Monday" on Sunday afternoon. Well, the wife unwittingly checked for a connection one hour after I called AtNex - and we were already Live.

I have yet to get a phone call from them, even though I made a point of requesting one. Not that I'm complaining - I'm just glad the wife happened to check. I can't get email from them (yet) because I had to make a third party email account (GMail) after I got back online. I never want an email addy tied to an isp again! Lord no.
