| Dry Loop in an apartment question
Hi all...
This is a rather dull question, but I am hoping for some help. I will be ditching Rogers come May or June. It is entirely too expensive, and I generally hover close to the cap of 60 gb. I am unimpressed with the idea of monitoring my usage like a hawk so I called Teksavvy.
The customer service was very pleasant.
However, I still have a problem. I am not currently on a dry loop but I plan to cancel my home phone with Rogers. The lady told me that I would need to know my Unit # or a unit type in which Bell has assigned my line connection. The problem here is that there are no unit numbers - it's a small house apartment with three units. All the mail comes to one address.
Although extremely helpful, my service representative was unable to tell me how I could find out how Bell has assigned my unit.
Anyone have ANY idea on how I can find this out? Apparently, I could find this out from Bell -- if I had an account with them. I obviously don't. Anyone have an idea? |

| If the apt is a legal apt, (like a triplex) you should be listed under unit 1, 2 or 3. I lived in one while I was in Kitchener.
If your using Rogers Analog Phone now, then you just need the circuit number from them. If your like most and have Rogers digital Phone, via cable, BELL should still have your line on file.
They may have to have a Bell tech come out and ensure that a jack is operational for the dry dsl, as rogers likely disconnected anything going to Bell's network. |

@rogers.com | Thanks for the quick reply! I DO have an analog phone from Rogers, not a digital line. However, I plan to cancel that too, so will the circuit number still be of use? |

| As long as you can get a circuit number, it should help...
I would suggest, getting the circuit number, calling Teksavvy to confirm it before cancelling Rogers
Also if they do confirm it, assuming you have internet on Rogers Cable make sure you coordinate such that there is a good two week overlap between the time you order TSI and the time your Rogers Internet is cancelled...
That way if issues arise with the installation, you'll still have internet (TSI will always adjust the charges based on the actual activation date so no issues there) |
