| It is possible that the config-register got changed on the switch which adjusted the console port speed settings. Typically you might see garbage on the terminal client if the console port is running at higher speed. Unfortunately, if that is the case, the only way to recover is to guess the line speed by manual testing.
Have you verified that the switch port lights are not lit amber and staying that way through the POST? You should see the lights flash as it is booting. -- Ignorance is temporary...stupidity lasts forever!
