After hanging up a call, the line wouldn't release the call, and we wouldn't get dialtone for perhaps up to several minutes, sometimes as long as 20 minutes. A tech found the issue with a board in the box at the front of our s/d and either moved our line or swapped the board out, I'm not sure. Some months later when the problem came back, I reported it again. I provided as much info as I could about where the problem was found before. First tech dispatched got to the house when nobody was home. He went to the NID, plugged in his phone, got dialtone. He left, saying no problem found, must be an inside wiring problem, charged us for a service call. I phoned billing, got the charge removed. I phoned customer service again, reported the problem the same way. The tech comes out, I explain the problem to him, he says no problem, he'll check it out. Out of curiosity, I asked him what the dispatch ticket said, it only said "customer does not have dialtone". Sheesh...anyway, every dealing with a field tech, when I've been there to fill in the gaps that customer service left, has been stellar. The techs are the guys (and ladies) who do the real work of the company. They keep the stuff working, they interface with the customer, they go the extra mile. Pretty much every time I've had a tech come out to fix something, they would leave their mobile number for me to phone them if the problem recurred. It left me very impressed with their integrity and work ethic.
