<description><![CDATA[<A HREF="/useremail/u/1520629"><b>tubbynet</b></A> : My 2 bits:<br><br>As excited as I was when Cisco bought out Linksys in hopes that the Linksys products would be better, I have realized that the product line has generally gone downhill and I am unimpressed with the results.<br><br>That being said, I have had great luck deploying Cisco LAP1131AG access points from Cisco which have no external antenna and really just looks like a white spaceship with a colored glowing ring in the middle.<br><br>&raquo;<A HREF="http://www.wlanmall.com/aironet-1131-80211ag-lwapp-access-point-integrated-antennas-cnfg-p-509.html" >www.wlanmall.com/aironet-1131-80&middot;&middot;&middot;509.html</A><br><br>These APs are rock solid (I currently have two running of a PoE switch in my house) and I have had great luck with their coverage and performance (I work as a wireless deployment engineer for a very large Cisco partner [just for the sake of full disclosure]).<br><br>IF (and this is a big IF) the Linksys and Cisco wireless R&D people actually colaborated on this new design, I might be inclined to recommend this to several people who would have no business running third party firmwares on the router or could get by with the "micro" versions.  However, in knowing the Linksys line since Cisco took over, I wouldn't hold my breath.  I would actually need to test one to really see the benefit of it.<br><br>Sorry if this was is perceived as a hijack. It does work and was insanely easy to do. Distance between the two is only 25 ft but Vista says signal strength is excellent (does that have any value--I don't know).
