On April 3, 1882, Robert Ford mortally wounded Jesse James by shooting him in the back while James was hanging a picture in his home. While he was a bandit, James was loved and admired by many of the local folks.
On April 11, 2008, Robert Ford mortally wounded Speed Factory while failing to comprehend that the most important step in a crisis is to communicate as much as possible, as early and often as possible, to as many people as possible, by any means possible. Not through an anonymous spokesman, but directly as the man in charge and responsible for the situation. While Speed Factory was overpriced, it was loved and admired by many of the local folks. |
