thizzle7xu : I got the channel changes on May 13th (North Ridgeville). Solid lineup I'd say. Although I no longer wanted the HD tier since it's only 4 channels now (Mojo, HD Net, HD Net Movies, Universal HD), so I called to cancel the HD tier. Of course, being TW, all my new HD channels were cut out. I called again and this time the girl killed my box with updates (although it still turned on, but with the same problem as before). So I had to take my box up and get a new one. The new one has Mystro, and I really like it. They must have fixed the recording problem, as I was able to pause another channel while recording something. And the interface is much much quicker, as well as slick (fade in/out menus).

Also, a cool little addition: if you happen to turn to an SD channel that has an HD version, it will tell you in the info there's a better version to watch and it takes you to the HD channel by hitting OK. Nice!

Finding OnDemand stuff is a little strange at first (having to go to a certain channel instead of just hitting a button), but once you get the hang of it, it's fine. Also, you need to go into the settings to find DD5.1 when using an optical/coxial cable, it's not on by default if you use HDMI. But this new SA box blows the old Motorola out of the water.

Also, if you look at the TW/RR help pages on the Network Status, they are starting to do tests for SDV in Cleveland.

quaggo : I have not had a working SA 8300HD dvr since the 29th of April, that's almost 6 days now. We noticed the morning of the 29th at 5:45 am that it was locked up on the initializing mystero screen, about 2/3 of the way done. We power cycled and even did a hard reset on the box, but now it just keeps rebooting over and over, locking at the same init screen restarting. I have called support 3 times, no one knows what the heck they are doing. I even spoke with a manager at the Cleveland office and he said he'd check into it, and now he's not returning my calls for 3 days....figures. Needless to say, I am pretty annoyed. Does anyone know how to reformat the internal hd? I have read that you hold the pause key on the remote but that doesn't work. I have been told to boot holding power and select but that process, when complete, still does nothing. I would take the box to a service center to swap but they are only open when I am already at work, and a service call would take over a week from now until they can get here, can you believe that!? Any help is appreciated.

Figures it would happen now since the new billing period starts Friday. Of course, they've apparently chosen to do this during prime time.

When I turned on my DVR, it was nearly unresponsive and kept locking up. I called the customer service number and there's anew message about Former Adelphia and Comcast customers losing channels due to the change-over. I just unplugged the box and plugged it back in. Every channel is working now (the old ones), but the channels all seems to be dropping frames a lot and some like PBS HD are breaking up completely. Seems like they are doing the change right now.

anon : HORRIBLE!! My 8300 was upgraded to Mystro at 4:30 yesterday morning. I should say is STILL upgrading. I lost 3/4 of my recorded shows, i can no longer pause or rewind live tv and they're telling me that the upgrade is still in process.... 40 hours later! There was no advance warning of this upgrade, even the customer svc people say they didn't know about it till they started getting customer complaints. What a crap way to run a company!! At first they were telling me that the upgrade was to setup the new channel lineup. Nope! Same channel lineup. Now they say the lineup will change next monday (4/21). Guess I'll have to watch everything over the weekend in case they corrupt it all again. Not Happy!!!
