So what should they do?

Just sit and do nothing until the courts decide the ISPs are liable for the file sharing and get sued for millions?
I believe that will happen, the RIAA is not getting enough money from the end users so why not go after the corporations with money.

I personally find this funny, Comcast is pathetic IMO, even though im stuck on ATT i don't think they are much better, non of the ISP's are really any different

They complain about p2p traffic hurting them and etc

haven't you guys noticed in the last 2 years that the Internet itself has "slown down"...i don't only expereince it here at home, My college that has a few dedicated t3 lines that use to zip, is now noticeable their too, same with my uncles Verizon FIOS, same with my Bro-in-laws Comcast, the Internet as a whole has "slown down"

Speeds tests are still the same, but they don't tell the whole story, they don't measure "Net congestion"

The Internet was "Never Designed" nor mean for Internet TV, Internet Telephone, and all the other stuff that is going on

Everytime someone signs up for VOIP or Internet Television...the Internet Just gets that much slower.

You look at the TCP/IP Protocol, and DARPA's Intenret Architecture, the Internet was "Never" DEsigned for this...The Internet was mean for 2 computers to talk to each other, if that be Server/Client, Server/Server, or Client/Client...it was never meant to stream TV to your house, nor be your primary Telephone Providor

Thankfully the Internet2 will be "Off Limits" to the Public Sector and the likes of Comcast and these other Companies, I got to see and Use the Internet 2 Last year for about 15 minutes, and it is so fast it is ridiculous...why? Because it isn't congested with all this crap

If they would get rid of the VOIP and the Internet TV, you would see the Internet itself would speed up "majorly" it was never designed for this

if they want a VIOP network, build a new Network that is "not" part of the Internet, same with Internet TV/IPTV...

Sites like Youtube and What Not that use flash, they compress the video's somewhat, and they are streamed in a way that you don't notice the strain if much at all, but IPTV and others is just ridicilious

I think its deplorable that Comcast is throttling traffic, but it saddens me more that they are "ruining" the Internet with all this garbage the Internet was never designed for, and Comcast is not the only 1 guilty of this

Skype for example is one of the big reasons everything on the INTERNET is moving more slowly

We just need to go back to the Model of what the Internet is, which is 2 computers talking to each other, not dedicating peoples TV and Phone to it and just slowing the whole darn thing down, the Internet was never meant for that, those people need to build their own seperate VOIP and IPTV Networks so Customers can have a much superior product....but that costs money

If they try to control file sharing the courts WILL come down on them. Right now they have safe harbor protection but once they attempt to control file sharing they lose this protection.

Because, as a matter of law, Comcast is not liable. However, the minute that Comcast starts filtering content, they are liable for any "bad" stuff that they fail to filter.

The internet was "never designed" for the world wide web either (http didn't come along until later) so we should give that up and go back to FTP and/or Gopher, right?

And who needs IM when you've got Unix talk!

Right now they are not liable, but give the money hungry lawyers some time and they will make them liable for it.
