When I was throttled (haven't been for several days now, no explanation from Bell but obviously I'm happy), my VPN, VOIP and gaming were all affected in addition to downloading. In particular, for VoIP I use a small toronto provider called VBuzzer. What I noticed was that in the evenings calls became pretty much useless. The calls cut in and out like really bad cell phone reception sounds like. There were certain Canadian phone numbers I could normally dial with VoIP that simply wouldn't connect during throttling. Since I'm not throttled at present, everything is back to normal (great call quality). |
