You obviously have no taste as far as games go. Wait...is your favorite game bejewled? I must be wrong though, all the awards farcry won must not mean anything or all the 9/10 or 10/10 reviews it got.
Edit: You're calling us haters? What the hell have all of your posts been about? Hatin on PC games. You're wrong, and not only that you're trying to prove your point in the worst possible place, PC GAMING forums. Go back to the console boards. |

1 edit | Go back to your console FPS that targets for you. If you can't afford to PC game, then fine, but don't lay this whole negative BS out there that its dying just because you don't want to spend the money.
The line between PC's and Consoles is just going to get more and more gray till there is no line. One box that does it all, does that mean PC gaming is dead? No it means you got an xbox with a keyboard and a pc with a gamepad.
Edit: Coffee maker optional. |

1 edit | quote: Im not playen any. They all suck IMO.
Way to start the discussion
quote: The cost of trying to keep a pc updated is just getting out of hand, not to mention the POWER requirements. Im not going to get a 2nd job just to support gaming. NO WAY.
Its the same price it always has been. I built a machine a year ago for $1000 that will play most of todays games. I spent $1000 5 years ago for a machine that will still play most of todays games. How much did a brand new 386 cost at the time it was new?
quote: People like me are the ones who made gaming what it is today and now people like me are giving it up. Its only a matter of time until the newer adopters realize the same thing.
Generalizations. Who are people like you except you? Your just making baseless statements. I believe you are the minority.
None of your posts have any basis on fact. Its just whining.
If you're trying to have a discussion have a discussion instead of just saying "well its my opinion". Try giving us some facts and not just what you think. |

Er...sorry that not everyone gets off on the same games. I'd have to agree with him in that FarCry really didn't get my rocks off. Maybe its our "bad taste", or whatever, but it still is our $$$, and folks can spend it how they please.
Personally, in terms of FPSes, I haven't seen anything revolutionary. Portal added something, and my re-discovery of Postal 2 was pretty humor-riffic...however, aside from an increase in graphics, the "got-to-have" FPSes just haven't hit home for me.
On a sadder note, its actually been a better time on the console. Assassin's Creed was enthralling and playing Army of Two was amazing. I personally didn't like Gears of War much (the game its based on), as Army broke up the monotony of duck-duck-duck in Advanced mode.
I'm still on World of WoWcrack, but besides that, I really don't see much of interest in PC gaming coming up. I can't wait to get a hold of StarCraft 2, but as for the other "must play games", eh...kinda snoozers IMHO. Just my opinion.
(edit) Personally, I'll be wrapped up on the console playing Smash when not on WoW. Having folks to play with in-house beats an online experience hand-down for me. |

said by DaMaGeINC :People like me = the ones who started PC gaming when pc gaming was unheard of. The original adopters. You're 22 man, you were not anywhere near the "original adopters", hell even I wasn't. The ones that are 40+ years of age and still gaming to this day are the "original adopters".. FFS son, get it right.
said by DaMaGeINC :Listen people. I have my opinion. I could care less what you think about it. This is what I feel is happening, so go flame someone else. I understand how you feel, I felt that way around 2004/2005 when gaming was semi-stale. With the advance of new technologies we are seeing new heights in gaming. DX10, new and more powerful GPU's, CPU's, etc. Gaming is really taking off these days. Sure... the titles may be the same rehash over and over but we are seeing some new and interesting titles coming our way. Be it RTS, FPS, Adventure, MMORPG, MMOFPS, MMOSimulation, new games are always coming out and new developers are always coming into the market with fresh ideas.
said by DaMaGeINC :Sorry, I thought it was just like every other FPS made since its time. I dont care what it was reviewed. My review of it was it FAILED. Maybe if you had tasted FarCry back in 2004 when it was originally released you would have seen and felt how GREAT of a game it was. It was ground breaking back then, but as you said you just recently played it... it is now 2008, of course it is old tech. I guess the game selling over "730,000 units within four months of release and has currently sold over 1 million copies worldwide" is a failure »en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Far_Cry

As for the OP. I haven't played BG2142 in a long while. I think most have either went back to BF2 or jumped to COD4. I myself prefer BF2 over BF2142. BF2142 didn't really do it for me, while it was a great game the sci-fi of it wasn't enough... I needed more
I prefer mods to BF2 right now, like Project Reality »www.realitymod.com/ or Point of Existance »www.pointofexistence.com/ or Desert Conflict which is the excellent Desert Combat mod from BF1942 »www.desert-conflict.org/

That's a concern for some I guess, but not a big deal for me. That's how PC gaming goes and that is why I strive to learn more about PC hardware/software to this day. Once you learn the In's and Out's of hardware/software the issues seem little. |

Actually consoles do have their share of bugs and patches, what's worse is that a lot of griefing happens on TF2 on consoles because of the lack of patching.
Not to mention paying for some additional content. Here's what I mean.

Haven't bumped into it yet in my console career. Well, I take it back, I ran into some in Assassin's Creed...however, that was because I chose to opt out of the auto-update that popped up when I stuck the disc in.
Needless to say, if I had to compare the amount of console bugs to PC gaming bugs, the ratio between the two would be huge. |

Well different hardware vs the same hardware, of course there will be differences. PC bugs are probably harder to fix. |
