kudos:2 | Laws, laws, laws... How about they just leave the decision to the marketplace? If people want to talk on the phone in flight, they'll board an airline/flight which allows it. If they don't- they'll board a flight or airline which doesn't.
While I do most certainly not want to hear other passengers chat up on their phone the entire flight, I do want to be able to work (or pleasure) from a plane, so I think a total ban is a very bad idea. Just let the marketplace decide.
As a VoIP provider though, I think the possibility of people making cheap VoIP calls while 30,000 ft up in the air is plain exciting!

Of course, when it comes down to it you'll just sit and sneer at the person trying to make them feel uncomfortable, while deep inside trying to think of creative ways to end their life.
