I know I dont want to hear people talking about their crap next to me.
So we need the government to step in and dictate this? Shouldn't it be up to the airline as to what customer services they allow and don't allow on their planes?

I mean, talking isn't exactly a health concern. Someone yaking on the phone next to you isn't causing you bodily harm. If you don't like it, then you should fly an airline that *chooses* not to allow patrons to talk in-flight.

Or I could just take the phone from the person, BREAK IT IN HALF. Give it back to them with $200 cash and tell them to STFU.

If you have the money, as well as the funds to make amends for any fees incurred in porting data from phones, and other financial repercussions for disconnecting the phone, go for it. Myself, I'd just let them yak while I pass out for the duration of the flight.
