 Wierd Problem since modem swap

My Westell 6100 that CenturyTel sent me went bad and they sent me a new one. My original setup was that I had my 6100 in bridge mode and had an Apple Airport Extreme doing the PPoE and DHCP for me. This new one they sent me will go into bridge mode but it will not pass the info over to my Airport. If I let it do the PPoE and DHCP eveything works but I can not get port forwarding to work on the Westell so thats why I was letting the airport handle the PPoE and DHCP. The first one I had I had up and running in minutes and this new one, which by the way is the same revision and firmware, has been testing my patience for two days now. Is it possible they sent me a bad 6100 or am I crazy? BTW I have tried 2 other Airports and a Linksys with the same results.
