That's not true. I'm on a remote (FTTN) and I'm most definitely throttled. The throttling is at the BAS level, not the DSLAM level. Also, Bell has no copper backbone. I think Bell thinks they are going to lose this one, so they might as well roll out what they should have been rolling out a bit earlier then they had planned. I think Crull and Bibic are not sharing information, because I swear that Bibic has been going on about capacity problems, yet, Crull, in his letter, claims a "direct uncongested gateway to the Internet" is available with his special Sympatico offer! ;) Crull even goes as far as promoting their "new, next-generation fiber optic network"

These blatant marketing lies really need to be addressed.
