A terrorist is just that. S/He doesn't need cellphones or a lack thereof to hijack a flight.

As for the concerns of interference with nav and/or comms equipment that staff uses to ensure the safety and pilot the plane. I'm still skeptical on that one.

I saw the episode of MythBusters where they concluded that it was just another way for the airlines to get into your pocket while up in the air and cornered. But there was realtime interference caused directly to the (OLDER) nav equipment by a pre-pay cellphone that was used during the mock cockpit test. If that result is any indication of what would happen when a majority of jumbo jet users have their cell phones on and using most of them at the same time, well that wasn't tested (at least not publicly). Kinda started a Sub-Thread here for speculative purposes, lol.
