Re: *Master Topic* FiosTV Going 100% Digital/All Markets said by HaloBox:What impact will this change have to TiVo and Vista Digital Cable tuner users (both via CableCard) ??? There would be no negative impact to Cable Card devices, the conversion to 100% Digital strictly affects anyone that had the Basic Tier on a cable ready TV, or any TV directly connected to Fios without a Box/DVR, Cable Card Device or Digital Adapter.
The issue is the removal of the Analog channels 2-49 that could be watched with only a Cable Ready TV, that they will be turned off completely, and you will need a Digital Adapter, Box, DVR, or CableCard Ready device such as a TiVO.
The Positive Impact will be that by removing Analog, it will make space to add many more HD/SD channels to the system at an undetermined future date. -- "Lithium is no longer available on credit" |

This is the kind of info that would be great to have at the top of your first post. Can you go back and include it? Also, you can include this »Re: *Master Topic* FiosTV Going 100% Digital/All Markets a the top as well, per the poster. |

 | reply to KA3SGM I received my letter June 5th (Philly Area).
It offered free cable boxes for your analog sets plugged directly to the cable system (no set-top box).
I called the number (888.go.digital) and got the following message: "enter the pin code you wish to use and hit # key"
It gives you 3 tries and then hangs up.
It does not matter what code you enter (3-6 numbers)
And yes, I did try my PIN number I have with verizon.
Any one else experiencing this problem? |

Either way there should be a 6 digit code in one of your boxes. One of the boxes for the DCT700's has paper work with an activation code on it. Enter that and hit #. Did that help? |

 | Actually, it was the wrong number. I had to call Verizon and get the correct number which was 888-463-4448. Connected and ordered 2 boxes.
The freebie offer ends on June 12 (today). |

 | I live just north of Philly. As for Verizon's statement, you will have to check with them. |

I don't think that those dates are really 'expiration dates'. Oh to be sure at some point verizon is going to stop offering these boxes. But I don't think they would not give you a box because you missed the date on the letter. I think the date is there to tell you 'if you don't want to have your service interrupted at all, call us by this date, so we can get you the box before we shut off your analogs.' That's the way I take that. I think if you called, they wouldn't deny giving you the box. Heck you can get them on line too (which is what I did). |

 | Digital eve, June 16th, Maybe! In live in Ambler, PA (just north of Philly), Received my seconded call from verizon last week and had a chat with the operator, He called to make sure that all of my sets had a box. I got it out of him that He was told the last day for analog was 17 June for my area. Since I have a HD DVR, a HD, and non-HD boxes, I turned down the free boxes, because they will only received the basic lineup. |

The free STBS will receive everything you subscribed to except HD channels; they won't do VOD, the IMG (guide), or the widgets so if those aren't important to you, then they're a great replacement for the non-HD boxes. |
