At 7 pm tonight we are going to be saying our final goodbye to our beloved pet Cookie. We had to rush Cookie to hospital this past weekend after a bout with diarrhea and some vomiting. After running many test we were told that her kidneys were failing. She's been in the hospital since Monday and her condition has become worse. Cookie is only 6 years old and we don't know why this happened and will probably never know. We were told she could of eaten something toxic, or it could have develop early in her life from a generic defect.

We got Cookie from the shelter 4 years ago. Cookie is a very sweet dog and probably the world friendliest Beagle. I never had a dog when I was a kid and got her for the family so my boys would experience the love of a pet. I always kid my wife that if someone broke into the house she would go up to them wag her tail and want to play. We will all miss her very much. And I will be with her till the very end like I promised her. She will always be in our heart and our home will always be Cookie's Place.

I'm very sorry for your loss. I lost my dog Molly this past Sunday and I was devastated. Just keep it in mind that Cookie is in a better place and won't be in any pain.

Man, that's tough. As an animal lover and one who has lost pets from old age and illness, I know what you're going through. I'm really sorry to hear of your loss.

I'm very sorry. I've lost many pets in my time to old age or disease and it's never easy. I've found that while you can't replace a pet, you can always find a new friend one day that will fill that hole in your heart.

I know and understand the feeling and the loss of a great and loving friend. My well wishes and compassion go with you, your family and Cookie.

Love has no limits be it man or animal friend. Cookie may not know the end but love is universal and she has had it for you and you from her without reservation

Why do people pay to go up tall buildings and then put money in binoculars to look at things on the ground?

I'm really sorry to hear this, I knew you were waiting for test results from another post you made and it sounded like you may have been expecting the worst, I know that doesn't make it any easier tho. So terribly sorry to hear this horrible news, my thoughts and prayers are with you, your whole family and cookie was well.

Thanks everyone. We had a chance to visit with her for about 45 mins before the procedure was done. So my boys, the wife, and I had more than enough time to kiss her, hug her and say our goodbyes. She was definitely deteriorating.

The last 2 pictures were taken with my cell phone Tuesday night. She looked great that evening and was as playful as ever. My wife and oldest son visited her on Wednesday night. By them she wasn't as playful and my wife told me there was something about the look on her eyes she didn't like. Last night when we saw her she could barely look up at us. Her time had come. There was no doubt on our minds we had made the right decision.
Thanks again.

My best friend Levi, a huge, nearly a lion, blonde male tabby, ran away from me. It was purely out of jalousie because I parked my truck in my neighbor's driveway as i remodeled their kitchen. They had a female Angora house cat that Levi knew was living there. Levi came to the edge of the driveway, carefully avoiding the trespass zone and snarled loudly at me. I pointed at our house and shouted "You go home!" Levi jumped up on the driver's seat, peed on it and ran off never to be seen again. Don't think for one minute that your pet doesn't love you very much and can be deeply hurt and can react in a jealous rage too. I miss Levi very much and am truly sorry for not being more thoughtful.

He always met me at the front door when I got home from work often bringing me gifts of birds or mice. I would take a beer from the fridge and he walked with me to the nearby park where he sat next to me as we watched the sun go down. I miss you too Levi!
