Won't someone please think of the encryption!?! Wonder what the (law enforcement)geniuses will do when all the p2p traffic is encrypted? That might be true if all they do is look at the session's packets. OTOH, if they get access to the .torrent file, they can fire up their own Torrent client and feed the .torrent file to it, monitor whose IPNs are currently in the peer cloud, and download the files (even though the session itself is encrypted). Seeing the contents of the downloaded file is, of course, assumes that the file is not password protected (as some files I have seen are). That would require not only the .torrent file but the associated password. |
