So sorry for your loss. BJ looks like a real sweetie who thrived due to the love and kindness you showed him. Shame on that farmer - anyone who harms an animal is just pure evil.

Sorry for your loss Bolt. It sounds like BJ had a long life and at least the time spent with you was great! He looks very happy in that pic.

Me too. but, I love the fact that all of these beautiful creatures had caring humans and a pack that misses them.

I just saw this. I don't know how I missed it, but I did and I am so sorry. When I saw it, I somehow thought of this little ditty I found on the Internet some time ago.

"Humility

And Adam said, "Lord, when I was in the garden, you walked with me
everyday. Now I do not see you anymore. I am lonesome here and it is
difficult for me to remember how much you love me."

And God said, "No problem! I will create a companion for you that
will be with you forever and who will be a reflection of my love for

will be with him forever and who will see him as he is. The companion
will remind him of his limitations, so he will know that he is not
worthy of adoration."

And God created CAT to be a companion to Adam. And Cat would not obey
Adam. And when Adam gazed into Cat's eyes, he was reminded that he was
not the supreme being. And Adam learned humility.

And God was pleased. And Adam was greatly improved.
And Cat did not care one way or the other"

Sorry to hear that Bolt, BJ was a cool looking dog! Love the white on his legs. They look like he was wearing gloves! Agreed, but you know, it's a very helpful thing.

Kidneys failed and I had to have him put down.

Still have his sister, Scherezade Katt (Tortoise Shell Persian)

Very pretty kitties. I have had several Persians and love their personalities.

Why in God's name do I have to post in this thread again? This is my kitten "Thunder" who died 12-10-11. He was just past 6 months old and died from FIP. I am so devastated. He was such a good boy and very brave. I will miss you forever little one...

I can't begin to tell you how sorry I am. I hate FIP too. He was such a beautiful baby, and his life was much too short.

Once more, I check into this thread and am sitting with shivers all over my body. When a loved pet dies, mine or other's, that happens. I am so sorry to hear both of the loss of Hercule Purr-oh Katt and of Thunder. While I know that the good memories will go on and on, the feeling of sadness, and sometimes loss of control, springs up at the most unexpected times. Allow for them. Cry about them. It's all OK.

That is truly awful! I had a cat that looked just like that one too. Curious though, did they say they KNOW it was FIP? I only ask that because when my Ranma (pg 7) was little, less than 1 year old he was sick, the tests said it was FIP, but turns out he had an obstruction from ingesting thread that never showed on x-rays they took. I read (from a vet friend far away) that many cats that come from multi-cat homes will test positive for FIP, but not really have it. I pushed my vet to operate on him and that's where they found what he had eaten. They were able to save him because of it. We never knew he had eaten anything like that, as we never left anything like that lying around. We had 2 other cats at the time, and a positive FIP test could mean the other 2 were in danger as well.

Doesn't make the hurt any less I know, but it's worth knowing anyway. For future reference, if you have multiple cats.

Having adopted a kitty there that summer, I stopped by the county animal shelter to drop off a bag of cat food. It was about an hour before they closed for the weekend. When I got there, my friend C., who volunteers, told me that there was a respiratory infection going around, and they were putting down many of the cats. Then she said, "If you're going to rescue someone, rescue Darth Vader." He was the next one on death row. At the time my husband (fiancé at the time) and I already had three cats, but I met this poor sick kitty, and told him, "Come on, Vader, we're going home." I borrowed a carrier and took him home with me. We went to the vet, and a course of antibiotics fixed him right up.

The shelter's paperwork two years ago listed his age as two. I thought at the time - my husband and the people at the vet's office agree - that he was at least ten years older than his paperwork said. I think his previous owner lied about his age to give him a better chance at being adopted. Heck, I would have taken him if he was 20, but not everyone thinks like that.

Anyway, I've known LOTS of cats, but Vader was the sweetest, most loving kitty ever. He never stopped purring. My husband and I are thrilled to have had two wonderful years with him.

So sorry to hear of their loss and how fabulous that they gave him back 8 of his 9 lives when saving him. Pets own us and when they go, it's so hard.

And 2 years can be like a lifetime, for both animal and their owned ones. I grieve with your family.

My Missy is gone my cuddle kitty and best friend for 17+ years due to Diabetes complications .
She was my sanity and my little love she slept in the crook of my arm every night I loved her so much

She is gone lost to the world and I feel empty at the end she was in my arms and it was like she was sleeping she looked at peace my heart is breaking but I know it was for the best. But still I wish it had not really happened.

Oh Hank, I am so sorry for your loss. Missy looks like a very sweet kitty. When these little fur critters leave us that take a chunk of our hearts with them. I know it won't make you feel any better but I'm in tears just thinking about how you must feel.

Oh Hank, I'm so, so sorry. I know the feeling all too well. What a lucky girl she was to have you as her human.

Thank you but I think I was the Lucky one that Missy came into my Life she gave me all Her love and warmth freely and unconditionally.

That was more than I could ever have expected.

She wasn't ours, but it feels as if she was. We had known her since she was a puppy and we spent lots of time with her. She is finally at peace, having had to be put down at going on 17 last week. She allowed so many so much happiness, even to her last moments. Saying good bye to her when leaving her her last weekend was most difficult but far too long in the making. She was so uncomfortable. She is no longer.

I know to well and deeply how much this loss of a friend that just happens to be a of the Canine persuasion can be.
