Broadband ISP Photos → Sprint Datacentre

Seems to have a few photos of what looks to be a Sprint datacentre. A LOT of Cisco, including some CRS-1's.

If you make your way back to »www.stupi.se/cgi-bin/kaka there is a list of years which you can browse through for more photos. Some of them just appear to be random photos of stuff, but there are some interesting finds in there.

That's some serious heavy metal there!

I am surprised to see the ASX-4000's there - I loved the "manifold" fibre troughs on those bad boys; but thought they would all have been retired by now!

Good number of 12k series in there, too - makes the lowly 4 12416's I have seem kind of inadequate.

My guess is a DMS-500

DMS DTE/DTEI Bays - each half bay is 20 DS1's for voice traffic. I can't see (little too small) what DMS it is (DMS-100, 200, 250, and 500 all use the same bays, just different software/application)

The original DSLR article didn't know what equipment was used, but this guy set up a Cisco CRS-1 in his mom's house.

I already knew that (but others might not have), Ive been to his site a few times to look at his gallery. He always puts interesting photos up, sometimes of completely random stuff that appears to have no point to it.

And yeah, the photos of his "40gbps FTTH" are in there somewhere, as youve already linked.

This looks more like Cisco's lab in CA. PL brought in his Fuji to take some candids

Why would Cisco have a massive DMS in their lab? Interoperability with voice equipment can be achieved with a much smaller system.

Why do they have old school 3com Total Controls? Why wouldnt they have their own AS's in there instead?

Why dont they have more of their latest and more recent routers? I also see some Junipers in there, two NetScreens if I am not mistaken. Could be vendor interoperability, but why only two NetScreens? Why not some M, J, or T series?

They also appear to have a bunch of Lucent TNT's. You can see the IPs on the front of some of them, one of which is 206.133.59.24.

If you do a whois on this IP address it makes no mention of Cisco.

Might be old photos, but I still dont think it would be their, or anyones, lab.

Not the way I read it. He said it "looks more like", not "looks similar to", inferring (to me) that it is something other than what it was originally thought to be.
