 Screen freezing

I don't play WOW but my grandson does when he plays the screen wants to freeze. If he hits control/delete it will start up again. The computer spec is asus p4c800 e-deluxe, 3.0 Intel processor, 2 gig pc3200 ram and a nvida 5700 ultra graphics card.

Looks like the video card is dying and/or overheating.

I know patch 2.4 changed the particle rendering engine a bit but no problems here using either a 7900GTX or 8800GT.

On my old 7950GT, the game would start to freeze up after a few minutes of WoW but if I alt tabbed before the system reset itself, it would be fine. Eventually the ram on the card died out few days later.

I installed the new beta nvida 174.12 drivers. I'm having him to try that now. On the WoW site some one has config.wtf file that some said worked but I don't know what use to open the file.

Any text editor will open it. Either wordpad or notepad works fine.
