Leaving Teksavvy

Hello,

I'm leaving teksavvy, Don't take me wrong, I love them. But the current bw restrictions do no justify what I'm paying for. So I opt out for wireless, it is more expensive by just 30 bucks, and its 4mb compared to 5 from tek, but atleast I will be getting what I AM PAYING FOR. I understand that this is a bell issue at large and I appreciate tekksavy. But this is not what I signed up for. So Thank you and Good Bye.

PS: the 4MB wireless is ALLOT MORE then the 5mb throttled.

Rocky,

I hope your keeping track of the statistics of who's leaving your service. This is Bell's damage to your company writ large!

You might want to check and see if your wireless provider has a FAP, because if you exceed that then you are just paying double the monthly price you would have with teksavvy and there would be no benefit.

Funny how it says you're using Cogeco.

Maybe he made the switch to cogeco.

I know some TSI users in QC that will be switching to videotron.

If they post here with a videotron host to say they switched, should we expect you to criticize them?

Are you the host police?

Everyone can sympathize with TSI and all the other wholesalers. But in the end it comes down to a user feeling rip-off for what they pay for and what they bought.

Is it TSI's fault? No. Its Bells.

But it doesn't negate the fact that this isn't what people bought or pay for. People are being "rip-off", as Charlie Angus put it.

I can see more of this happening. Again not TSI's fault. All Bells fault.

Maybe the wholesalers should sue Bell?

Yes, a lot of people leaving TekSavvy will help them to have a good reason saying Bell hurting their business after being throttle... otherwise, look at now, they're 2nd rank in DslReports... getting more people know them from the news, getting more customers than before... So virtually, Bell/throttle help them get more customers... lol...

For the OP, why pay extra more $30 in order to avoid throttle, just pay TekSavvy $4 static IP and download by using Usenet instead of BitTorrent then you're throttle free... even at caps TekSavvy 1Mbps usenet through static IP, you can download more than 200GB/month... otherwise pay for premium newsgroup and you can download at your max download speed...

BTW, why don't TekSavvy give customers free usenet newsgroup access as another way to attract/retent the customers...

Ranking has NOTHING to do with them getting new customers. Don't even try to play that card "Leaving101@bell.ca".

This forum's ranking has more to do with the outrage Bell has caused, the fight for Canadian neutrality, the proof of the lack of needed legislation, and the posts/views of ALL users on DSLreports.

If you think having your business controlled by a third party entity causing your customers to leave and look elsewhere for unfettered service, is good for business then think again.

It seems as if Videotron is taking advantage of the whole throttling situation. :-P

I just got a call this morning from Videotron talking about their offers. It's a shame that they don't know that I don't like cable and will continue using DSL for as long as I can.

I'm not being throttled, though. I'm downloading Ubuntu 8.04 RC via BitTorrent at a few hundred kilobytes per second (and it's 4:05 PM EST).

Have many of you had no success bypassing the throttle? Seems to me that running utorrent beta 1.8, encryption, allow incoming legacy connections, and port 995 have been a winning combination. If I were to keep going at this pace this month, I would have well over my 200 gigs....

I'm also pondering about Videotron if the situation with Bell and the CAIP situation does not resolve properly. I just hope someone from the CRTC can kick Bell Canada in their saggy balls!

I am not a BT downloader, but I do a lot of secure traffic back and forth and it really ticks me off to see they throttle encrypted connections.

Well if you read OP's post, he said he's switching to Wireless. As far as I know, Cogeco does not provide that.

I'm not criticizing anyone anon.

it doesn't make two shi$% of difference to the rest of us.
If you don't think that things are trying to be done your wrong and complaining isn't going to fix the problem anyway.
So quietly just fade away

I'm glad he's at least posting and letting people know he's leaving.
Its better than just leaving not letting us know.

Again, this only helps Rocky's and the CAIP's anti-competetive case against bell.

Rocky take note. If you sue bell, you will get compensated for the lost revenue.

I think its important that people do be honest and say they're leaving and why, as is the case here.

Teksavvy should be aware of why. After all its their business being affected and ruined.

It won't be the last ESPECIALLY if the cease and desist doesn't come through.

Besides, whats it to you and why do you feel the need to belittle and criticize the person? Does it make you feel important? Feel like a big man now?

Get used to it, more will come. Either start learning how to behave in public forum or learn to use the ignore feature.
