What are some good GPS that I could get for under $200. I'm going on a 2k mile trip by car so I need one that basically just shows a map. |

| reply to Siko Circuit City is showing a Garmin Nuvi 200 for $170 online. Even less if you are willing to get one refurbed.
Under $200, you are getting what is available, not necessarily what is "good". But regardless, they should all provide at least the basic routing info you're looking for.
Check your Sunday paper flyers too and see if there's any weekly specials at Best Buy, Circuit City, Office Depot, Staples, Walmart, Sears, etc. -- Tweaked your connection? | Mail Parse | Speed Converter |

IM me the address and I'll check if it's on the map. |

I just went to the nearest circuitcity and played around with some of the gps. I could found my next address on the mio. I find the mio isn't really that user friendly just like the reviews says. Now I find that 3.5 is a little small, I'm looking for 4.3 on the screen size. |

| reply to Siko Buy.com has a lot of the TomTom's around your price range. The TomTom One XL is $149. »www.buy.com/prod/tomtom-one-xl-p···040.html
The TomTom GO 720 is a little bit over your price range ($249), but it's an amazing unit. »www.buy.com/prod/tomtom-go-720-p···189.html |

| reply to Siko i have the Tom Tom One and i love it. you can pick one up for around $150. its great and has a way to update it using their software via a USB port into your computer. the one at Buy.com for the One XL is a great price for that refurb unit. -- Fortunately I keep my feathers numbered, for just such an emergency.-Foghorn Leghorn |

| reply to Siko i just ordered the Navicon (Navigon) 5100 for 250 from buy.com (230 w/ googlecheckout promo). it gets above average reviews, but the free lifetime traffic updates and Points of Interest sealed the deal for me. i had been looking for a $200-250 unit, and the 4.3" Nav 2100 MAX was considered, along with my default pick of the Nuvi 200 series (200w, 250, 250w). i like Garmin's, was open to a TomTom, and looked at Asus' GPS, but the free traffic and POI sealed it for me.
the Nav 2100 is a 3.5" display while the 2100 MAX is the same unit in 4.3, just like the Nuvi 200/250 and 200w/250w.
i also considered Magellen's Maestro 3000 and 4000 series but for the features of the 5100, i was looking at a 300-350 Maestro.
ive read that the GUI of the Navicon's is slow and i, too, desired 4.3" screen, but i think i came to a good compromise b/w price and features.
if you see a "[FS] Navicon 5100 GPS" thread in 2 weeks, you'll know how i feel about it -- Somnambulator - t3h 5133pw41k3r

| reply to Siko I just bought a Tom-Tom ONE third edition for $150.00 and also includes a real nice carrying case for the unit. I drive a van for deliveries all through MA, NH, Maine, and this GPS hasn't failed me yet! Super easy to use, right out of the box, and pretty accurate as well! If you want a "no-frills" GPS, without all the bells and whistles, but gets you to where you want to, then I would highly recommend this.

| reply to Siko Thanks, I ended up buying a nuvi 350 on amazon.com for around $236.
Do any of you turn on the WAAS? I hear it uses more batteries, but that is no problem for me since I will only use it in a car charged in the cigarette lighter. |

but garmin removed this from their 700 series
so i call useless, but if you got it, use it |
