| Replacing Speedstream 6300 with 2Wire 2700HG
Bought a 2Wire 2700HG to replace a flaky Speedstream 6300 on my Bell Business Ultra connection that Bell refuses to replace. There is no CD with modem which I'm told I don't need anyways but if I just hook the AT&T 2700HG up all I get is the link not available message. I was told I'd need a key code and then my user name and password to establish connection. How do I go about setting up this modem to work with Bell and if I do need key code, where would I get it. |

@bell.ca | call bell and tell them one of two things...the unit wont power up anymore or its really warm. the really warm part sends a scary msg to bell and the last thing they want is your modem burning down the house !!! |

| reply to BRR_Dogger Wish it was that simple. Have already told them thing is so hot after couple hours that you can't touch it. The english as a 5th language tech at other end just continues with same old monotonous dialogue about test this, do that, cross your eyes, and turn green song and dance I always get. I just want to get rid of the Speedstream now and use as little of Bell's help as possible until another ISP is available. |

| reply to BRR_Dogger you only need to tell them 1 thing.
"I can't connect, the power light on the modem is red"
red power light indicates bad firmware, they'll get you to powercycle and/or reset the modem. humour them by trying it then say its still red.
guarenteed a new modem.
fyi ppl looking for new modems: This ONLY works with modems that have firmware |

You don't need a keycode. Go to »192.168.1.254, click on Broadband Link, then Advanced Settings. Put in your Bellnet username and password there. |
