It's only 42 right now in Redwood Valley, that's very cold for us this time of year!<br><br>Statement as of 4:21 AM PDT on April 19, 2008<br><br>... Unseasonably cold weather expected across northwest California<br>this weekend... <br><br>A cold area of low pressure aloft currently over British Colombia<br>will settle southwards over Oregon and Washington later this<br>afternoon. <br><br>Rain showers will begin to develop across northern portions of<br>northwest California this morning... with shower activity<br>increasing through the afternoon and evening hours for the<br>remainder of the region. Rain will begin to mix with snow later<br>this afternoon as unseasonably cold air filters into the region<br>through the day. <br><br>Snow levels will lower from around 3500 to 4000 feet in the morning<br>down to 2500 feet by the late afternoon. Snow levels will lower<br>further late Saturday night to between 1500 and 2500 feet. With<br>warm ground temperatures in place... only brief snow accumulations<br>of up to an inch are expected.<br><br>With low freezing levels... elevations down to the coast may see<br>small hail or a light snow mix in heavier showers Saturday night<br>and during the day on Sunday. <br><br>Freezing overnight temperatures are expected tonight and Sunday<br>night... especially in regions sheltered from wind. Efforts should<br>be undertaken to move or cover plants which are susceptible to the<br>cold. Motorists traveling through the region this weekend should<br>be prepared for cold temperatures... slippery and hazardous driving<br>conditions. <description><![CDATA[<A HREF="/useremail/u/1039313"><b>tshirt</b></A> : Nope, that's why I turned the date on, or nobody would believe it.<br> this is about the most snow we had all year at one time. around 8-9" deep, but a lot more fell,  the ground was so warm it's melting from underneath. without the ground melt we'd probably have 12-14".<br> the tv says some more flurry until noon, when it should change to rain.<br> looks like some of our old flowering cherry trees lost a few branches :(<br> not a typical late april.]]></description>

<description><![CDATA[<A HREF="/useremail/u/1039313"><b>tshirt</b></A> :  My wife stopped on the way home, put on her chains (first " non-practice" attempt, I think) sat for a couple minutes (steeling herself for to higher hills) decided it was a little better, took off her chains, and made it home safe in only 1.5 hours (12 miles, usually 30 minutes max.)<br><br> I was going to BBQ but it's REALLY coming down now, I'd have to shovel my way out there (and it just feels COLD) 27&ordm; and falling. Wake me in 63 days (summer starts)]]></description>

Lows upper 20's to low 30's.  <br><br>Looks like it'll get us just a bit here in Mendocino County in Northwestern California, though colder temps will be the main thing it brings us.  It was cold here last night, 28, which for getting into mid to late April is pretty chilly, they issued a freeze and frost warning yesterday for NW CA.<br><br>It's been an odd Spring, we had an inch of rain in late March, but so far April has been dry, though cold.
