Is it Legal? Black Tail lights and head lights?

Well ya I got a 2007 Ford Taurus and I been thinking about making some addons to it, Currently its pure stock but one thing I want to do is to black out my lights with night shade clear coat, it will blacken out the light but it will still allow the light to shine threw it mainly just gives the look of black tail ligh

My Question is, how legal is it? I can't seem to find any law that say I cant do it so as long as the light is Visible when its on basically, and as long as I don't change the color of the light bulbs and such like using purple head lights. I see cars like this all the time but well I also see cars with a 35-40% tint on the windows lol.

Thanks for any info you can give me

I'd assume you'd be pushing some limits per this:

"Are blue headlights legal?

No, blue headlights are not legal. Headlights must be white in color. Any required lamp, lens, or reflector that is obscured by any object or shielded by a nontransparent material, or any headlamp equipped with aftermarket clear, tinted or screen type color is prohibited. For more information see Maryland law."

From: »mva.state.md.us/AboutMVA/INFO/58000-04T.htm (the Marlyland Law link in that paragraph is a dead link though). I'd say it'd be best to call the police and double check. Better safe than sorry

It may be law but have you ever seen a vehicle pulled over for any violation? I certainly haven't. Every night I see many vehicles with over bright headlights or blue lights or heavily tinted windows. The worst are those idiots who feel they must entertain the world with the loudest possible music. One time a cop was sitting right next to a rolling boom box and ignored it.

No, not legal in the least.
