| DDoS Protocol ...in case of emergency
I would like to suggest a set of rules of dos and don'ts in case this ever happens again. And it could very possibly happen again. I've noticed there were various mistakes made (edit: including my own)and a little wave of panic going through the forums. I'm not sure how it would be implemented. Maybe a "Something Important" in the FAQ. Maybe "After Member Registration". Maybe a sticky in every "Registered Member Forum". If united we stand, maybe we will all do a little better next time.
Edit again: One rule might be that if a user has more than one link going to dslreports to close it down and keep only "1" link open during an attack. Wouldn't that help a little?
Thanks -- ...there will be an answer. let it be |

| Thanks for thinking out of the box. But I don't really think it is necessary and would confuse the majority of users. Who really wants to imagine that any second there might be a ddos attack and memorize rules and safe assembly areas and so on. I thought I left that stuff behind when i quit school |

You've done an excellent job of building this place and I know that your members would do anything to help you during a crisis.
I've never been in the midst of one these cyber attacks and was wondering what we could do to help you win your fight a little easier, if it ever happens again. But hopefully it won't happen again!!

1. Grin and Bear it.
2. Hide under desk, while chanting to the DDOS gods, (first offer blood sacrifice, a paper cut will do)
3. Smear blood on monitor, chanting Beatles lyrics, repeat as necessary until DDOS is over. -- »www.reverse.net |

Or maybe an email chain, like the phone call chain that used to be used on snow days when the kids were off!
