Might I once again suggest the thread above as case for having such a forum! A thread on the suggestion was sidetracked into actual discussion about movies before ever actually finalizing the original question!
Sometimes you simply can't beat human input and suggestions on what is or isn't good. If you post these topics in the Pub or Watercooler, you're likely to get a lot of "(That show/movie) sucked" with no valuable feedback.
Personally, I would hope to utilize such a forum for not only offering my opinion on films/shows I watch, but getting suggestions on similarly themed films/shows I may enjoy.
A forum set up for TV and movie critique could be bound by a different set of rules so as to allow intelligent discussion that members can look forward to accessing, while prohibiting the juvenile commentary that often accompanies such threads in the above-mentioned forums. |

Would there be a way to keep a tally score on each movie discussed or a rating of 1-5 stars as a quick reference.
With enough input this (movie) forum might be a valuable source of information on a google search. And not to mention add a few more members to the site! -- ...there will be an answer. let it be |

As one who spends many hours daily using the klunky message boards at imdb.com, I would find this a pleasant change to discuss entertainment topics on the superior message board format here. |

Maybe I could start a thread or two discussing clean movies I can watch with the kids. I am beyond sick of the film idiots who HAVE to stick in just ONE cuss word, innuendo or flesh flash in what was an otherwise great movie.
The movie guys responsible for that have serious psychological issues. That they lawsuit-pile the companies who clean up their filth ridden DVDs for familes because it violates their 'artistic liberty', confirms it.
They need a beating, counseling and then another beating. NV -- Abortion: A Republican Plot to Thin the Liberal Herd. |

As long as you include movies from all eras for review, such as Red River, Classics, like the 1933 uncensored edition of Cleopatra and so forth. |

My guess is that it's probable that far more people have seen a given movie than have read a particular book. Popular culture being popular and all and, I'm guessing, audience participation (size) being relevant. -- One day President Roosevelt told me that he was asking publicly for suggestions about what the war should be called. | said by Maccawolf :I guess that's kind of my point then..... Hmmm. Then an objection to book reviews is probably advisable but an 'aye' for movie reviews is warranted, eh? Hell, when it comes to American movies, the audience is nearly world-wide which is certainly not the case for a book. -- One day President Roosevelt told me that he was asking publicly for suggestions about what the war should be called. It'll also result in moderator bashing by some of those whose comments are removed.
