I have gone for extended periods in the past with terrible torrent performance, but in the last 8 months I have had great speeds up and down. Usually 250kbp/s or more down and consistently 120kbp/s up (which is about as fast as a 1mbit/s up connection can go). As usual torrents from private trackers are always much faster, usually 400kbp/s to 1.3mb/s down and a steady 120kbp/s up.
