The gateway (MX) mail servers for the nine legacy SBC domains (run by AT&T Internet Services) apparently have had their filters tweaked to be in line with the filters on the gateway mail servers run by AT&T Worldnet Services (for 'att.net' and 'bellsouth.net' users).

The result, for at&t Yahoo! HSI customers, is less spam being transferred from the 'prodigy.net' mail hosts (receive email for the domains) to the 'yahoo.com' mail hosts (place received email in the Inbox accessed from 'yahoo.com' servers).

That's not "lazy", that's "ignorant" or maybe "incompetent". Those are basic RFC-compliant settings for email servers, just like setting up MX records. Alot of companies are calling in because they are getting 521 DNS RBL bouncebacks when sending to AT&T customers. Basically, after incorporating some stricter guidelines on accepting emails, alot of companies are being blocked.

I used to go in via the web and check it once in a while.
It used to accumulate 50-100 per day and now it's down to a few if any per day.
