| reply to CableTool Re: AT&T UVerse vs. Comcast HSI
At our house, we have one HD-DVR and use it to record 2 HD channels all the time. Even when we don't record on both tuners, we might record on one tuner and watch HD VOD on the other tuner. We might even get a second HDTV and get another HD-DVR. As far as HSI goes, we have the standard 6 Mbps/768 Kbps, and with powerboost speeds average 20-25 Mbps/2-3 Mbps. We can download a 4-5 GB HD movie on Xbox Live marketplace in 15-25 minutes. U-verse isn't available, so the fastest speed they currently offer is 6 Mbps/512 Kbps which is more expensive than Comcast and is slower as well. By the time U-verse gets here with 10/1 and possibly 2-3 HD streams, Comcast will have deployed DOCSIS 3.0 and gotten WAY ahead of U-verse. By the time FIOS gets where I live, my kids will of had kids, grand kids, great grand kids, greatgreat grand kids and so on. |
