Verizon Westell 6100 4.4.2 firmware

Does anybody know where one can obtain the Verizon firmware 4.4.2 (as opposed to Westell firmware) for Westell 6100. This firmware is the one where Verizon writes over the Westell default firmware and offers DMZ Host and other such options and bug fixes --- which is why I need this firmware.

Just to be clear: The links on the Verizon website both exe and upg files for the 6100 upgrades to same Westell firmware but newer version. Im seeking for the _Verizon_ Westell 6100 version 4.4.2 and it would be GREAT if somebody could let me know where I can get this.

The current version I have for my Westell ProLine modem/router is Software version: VER:4.04.03.00. It has the DMZ and all that stuff, but it came with my modem, so I believe that is the version you are looking for.

Flo-

I wonder if the version you have is the same one as off the Verizon Website posted in Corky's post. That firmware you have is definitely the one I'm looking for (or newer).

Is your modem the E90 model or the C90 model Westell 6100?

My question is why would you want to enable the DMZ with a 6100 ?

The one at the Verizon link provided by corky See Profile is the same one that's been posted there for a year or more-- v. 03_02_01, for the C90-610015-06. That one works fine for me.

Not long ago, I upgraded to a newer version directly from Westell's site and was not a happy camper. I didn't care for the new interface, and immediately started having problems with the modem and/or connection.
Luckily, I was able to downgrade back to what I had (03_02_01) without a problem.

Just a point of info.

I want to enable DMZ on the modem since Static NAT and Port forwarding and IP passthrough on the older Verizon firmware crash when I use my videoconferencing device since those older firmware has a bug that when 1720 tcp port is pinged while the port is already in use, the modem reboots. The newer Verizon firmware works better. I cannot get the E90 versions to upgrade to the Verizon image. The modem just updates to a newer Westell firmware when I try the firmwares located on the Verizon website. The newest Verizon firmware for 327 is 4.4.3, and the 6100 is 4.4.2

Need to find a update to force Westell E90-6100 to change over from the westell image to Verizon image to fix the rebooting bug. The ones off the Verizon website just updates modem to a newer Westell firmware.

Your best bet would likely be to bridge that Westell and use some kind of router connect your devices.

Bridge still fails. I've tested the videoconferencing on other modems with exact same setup but with newer firmware and it works. Bridged to a router with pppoe and still fails. Its the firmware on the modem itself. I even contacted the videoconferencing company and they said its a well known issue at their company with Verizon Westell 6100.

E90-610015-06 is the modem that I have. The first picture is before the firmware push. The second picture shows the pushing of the firmware. I have the older version of this modem, the square and thicker one not the slightly rectangular and thinner one which is the newer Westell 6100. I do not have the screenshot of the after the upgrade but the firmware in status page of modem shows 4.03.02 and when I try pushing firmware again, the current version and the transfer version both shows 4.03.02

I tried pushing firmware from this link
[Removed exe file] and the modem still sticks on the old westell firmware with blue and white theme. Im hoping somebody can show me how to make this modem change to the Verizon red theme.

[Mod note: exe removed. No direct links to firmware or uploads of the firmware to BBR/DSLR are permissible, only links to the site hosting the firmware. sash]

Assuming this is the file you downloaded, ( E90-6100Firmware06.exe ), and that your modem really is an "E90-" model, then you should be looking at a red and black screen. Since you're not, the update apparently didn't install, or didn't install correctly.
The reason I wonder if the modem/router really is an "E90-" model, is because of your description. It almost sounds like it's actually a "B90-" perhaps with the wrong label on it somehow.
But since the update appears to have failed, one would think the ISP might replace that modem/router for you. You might want to see what the techs in the Verizon Direct forum here think.

Hi
My modem is the Westell E90-610015-06 Rev L It came with the version I believe you are looking for. Perhaps you should ask Verizon for a new modem/router and see if you can request Rev L one. It's now called ProLine on the router page. I'm using the DMZ so that GameSpy Arcade works properly. Portforwarding didn't get all the functions of the site to work ok, not the functions I wanted to work. DMZ seems to have fixed that issue for me.

Flo, would you take a snapshot of the modem label and screenshot of the ProLine on the router page? I have a similar problem as you do and need a DMZ function, the NAT and PF methods are known to not work with my videoconferencing device. I would really appreciate it if you could get those pictures. That would be sufficient information for me to complete this issue and I'll talk with Verizon.

To Bytebender - my modem is indeed a E90, you can see it on the screenshot of the router status page, I suspect its only the ProLine Edition (slimmer shape modem) that can upgrade to the Red and Black screen.

Verizon will not help you with DMZ without paying for the premium support.
