Here in CA, you have to register a dog or cat with the city and pay a fee. You also have to register the bicycle you just bought for little Tyler and also pay a fee. |

| I live in California and I've never seen a officer pull over anyone for a unregistered bicycle, the pet thing is to pay for any animal damages if so caused by and to keep track of animals and make sure they are not abused..even though I don't see it doing much. |

I wonder when they will introduce WiFi registration in CA too? It has gotten out of hand with all those Sierra Club nuts, and tree huggers and "environmental" laws, and stupid taxes, etc, etc.... |

I've seen them do it in both Huntington Beach and Newport.
And no, the pet thing isn't to pay for any animal damages.
It's simply yet another in a giant stack of revenue generators for gov't just like bike licenses and alarm permits. |
