Nickelodeon (Channel 222): Video & audio keeps dropping out

I've posted a message to the Verizon Direct forum regarding the problems I'm having with channel 222, Nickelodeon (also on channel 580). I'm from the Northern NJ area (Summit to be precise) and I have noticed in the past few days that almost every other minute on either channel 222 or 580 the audio drops out for a couple of seconds while the video either completely blacks out or it gets slightly pixellated for the same amount of time. I have checked the other Nickelodeon channels (Nick Too, Nick Toons, Noggin, The N) and they come in clear without any audio and video problems. Anybody else in the Northern NJ area notice the audio and video drop out problems on Nickelodeon? Anybody from outside of Northern NJ experiencing the same problems?

Well it's been over a week now and I still have problems every other minute with the audio dropping out while the video either blacks out and/or gets slightly pixellated on Nickelodeon (channels 222 and 580). I was told by the Verizon Direct forum that they are taking a look at my problem at the local VHO. I had asked here in this forum if anybody else had been experiencing the same problem with Nickelodeon and since nobody had posted anything here then I guess it might be a problem in my area only. All I know is that the problem occurs on all of my set top boxes (digital adapter, 2 SD STBs, HD DVR). As I had said before, all other Nick channels are fine except for channels 222 and 580. I ask again if anybody else is having the video and audio dropping out problem with Nickelodeon then please reply here.

I am in the NNJ region also(Red Bank). Turned on Nick for about 10 minutes(about all I could take). Didn't notice anything. Last night on Versus during the hockey game the same thing was happening periodically with video and audio dropouts.

Thanks TJM4. I'll have to check out Versus tonight during the hockey game to see if the problem occurs in my area.

No problems in my area on Versus (Channel 75) during the Flyers game tonight. Wish I could say the same thing about Nickelodeon (Channels 222 and 580) where the video and audio dropouts still occur every other minute.

Sorry to hear that, almahix. You should report your TNT problem to the Verizon Direct forum. It may not do any good though. Something tells me that they are going to blame my problem with Nickelodeon with my equipment which I won't believe because the problem occurs on all of my set top boxes plus all other channels play fine. Maybe it has something to do with my ONT. I still say it is a local VHO problem on Verizon's end.

I didn't have any problems the other night on versus either. Must have been an isolated issue that one night. Unfortunately the same can't be said for your issues.

I came across this issue the other day as I changed out 3 stbs to DCT-700's here in RI. It seemed to be an issue only on that channel.

Good news! The video and audio dropping out problem with Nickelodeon has cleared up. Since yesterday, I no longer get the video pixellation and audio dropouts every other minute on channels 222 and 580. Either Verizon had corrected the problem or it was a problem on Nickelodeon's end.
