[Vista] Ultimate Extras WU Dreamscene content & Sound Scheme

I'm downloading it now, I like the dreamscene content ...

I hope they fixed the application from crashing as well

I think you need to have Windows Vista Ultimate version to see it at Windows Update.

Re: [Vista] Windows Update has Dreamscene content pack 3

I have not had much of a problem with dreamscene so far. Except with I play wow sometimes have to restart it cause it stops or change it back because it goes to solid black background

Yah it did that to me a few times as well. When it does that, that means the program has crashed.

There are also new windows sound schemes for ultimate as well.

Re: [Vista] Windows Update has Dreamscene content & Sound Scheme

The new sound schemes failed to install for me, and going back to Windows Update, they don't show up. I need some time to troubleshoot that. Anyone else seeing that behavior?

Installed fine here. Strange that they failed and did not reappear in WU. Is there possibly an entry in Add/Remove?

I haven't had time to check anything out yet, just had enough time to try WU again.

I might get a chance to look at it tonight, we'll see. I'll let everyone know what I find out. Obviously it's something on my machine.

Check your dates/times, I say that yours is a repost. But thanks for posting!

There are also some other offers and such from the Ultimate team at »www.ultimatepc.com/#home

AFAIK the site is legit, it takes you to a Microsoft site to do a WGA check before you can look at the offer for a 8800GT/GTS with Crysis.

I topic re-posted inadvertently; I did perform a forum search for Ultimate Extras and the most recent hits on the first page of results were from January 2008 and July 2007. Last time I'll trust this site's search function. Sorry about that everybody.

Not the sites fault or yours, I should have put Ultimate Extras in the header, sorry. I will try and correct it.

Nice. I didn't know about this Dreamscene thing. It's actually a pretty cool thing.

If you have the hardwear to run it on, if not, it's not so cool

If your hardware can't run it, it makes about as much sense to install Vista as it would to put a Dodge Charger body on a peddle car and show up at the race track.

Never said I couldn't run it........it's just less then impressive on a notebook w/ only a on-board 128mb Video
Graphics card & 3GB of Ram........so, yeah it runs about as good as Aero Glass, so, What's your point?

Well, let's see....

There was a comment that Dreamscene was pretty cool, then you said "If you have the hardwear(sic) to run it on, if not, it's not so cool", to which I replied to the effect that it doesn't make a lot of sense to install Vista on hardware that won't support its features.

I thought my point was pretty clear.

No where did I say you couldn't run it, how was I to know you were speaking from experience? If you feel insulted by me because you did install Vista on hardware that can't support its features, I apologize for hurting your feelings.

You didn't hurt my feelings at all, My OEM notebook system is MORE than capable and can support Vista Ultimate and all of it's features.......and NO I'm not insulted or offended in any way.........and speaking from experience, I got to play with Vista's Dreamscene on a State-of-the-art Desktop PC system w/ a 32 inch Screen
it was VERY IMPRESSIVE on that, but, not so impressive on anything less than that....that was the point I was trying to make, I'm still not sure what your point was? in your original post........

If I got to play anything on a state-of-the-art computer with a 32-inch monitor...everything on anything else less-than that would always be less impressive.
