Re: Capped at 3MB?

Ok, getting a little frustrated. I've decided to hold off on the phone service, so I go to our local Suddenlink office and purchase a new modem so i can at least get better speeds than 3Mbps (take advantage of the 8Mbps I'm paying for). I still can't get above 2.8Mbps on any of the speed tests that I do.

I call Suddenlink's support and they say that my router is to blame, and that the security will slow you down.

Funny, I install these things for a living, and I have a similar firewall/router (SonicWALL) on a 6Mbps ATM (That's 4 T-1's) at work and I can get above 2.8Mbps just fine there.

What the heck is going on here?
