communication to dct 700 is one way only, that is it receives data only. not sure why cannot receive guide in the same way. most likely a memory issue with that box |

I had a DCT-700 with Comcast. With it, I had guide info and could get On Demand. |

I don't believe the DCT-700 is capable of receiving those signals.
The time must be sent over the video band so the DCT-700 does receive that. I know that if my router (not an Actiontec) or NIM-100 is shut down, I get no Widgets, VOD or Guide updates on my STBs but still get the time. I am set up with internet over Ethernet from the ONT.
With Comcast, the Guide and On Demand are sent on the video frequencies so the DCT-700 can receive them. There was another thread here that explained that but I couldn't find it off-hand. -- Never raise your hands to your kids. It leaves your groin unprotected. -- Red Buttons |
