my uptime not the best but ok,
Reason this gateway was reset was due to a replacement of the serial interface.

What uptimes can we post here? I have several systems that could qualify...three servers in Datacenters, some of my networking equipment, my F@H box...etc etc :P

Long uptimes scare me - especially on production servers.

Why so? They make me feel fuzzy inside.

Production servers with long uptimes leads me to believe that the sys admin hasn't been installing any security/update patches.

More on the Windows servers than unix/linux

I've seen machines with HUGE uptimes because people are afraid to reboot it in fear that it won't come back up.

I once had a machine that had a uptime of ~4.5 years before somebody switched it off. It was still in service, just not in regular use.

I don't have the image anymore, but I had an XP laptop with 120 days of uptime before I installed the updates I have been missing for months. I can usually get at least a few weeks to a month on either XP or Vista before a security update or software install requires a reboot.

Sounds like me.

I had over a year uptime on my server, I think around 381 days or so. I felt really bad about shutting it down to do some hardware upgrades to it

Atleast it came up without a hitch.

ROM: System Bootstrap, Version 12.2(8r) [cmong 8r], RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1)

XXXXterm uptime is 2 years, 48 weeks, 4 days, 19 hours, 6 minutes
System returned to ROM by power-on

One of our sun servers had about 500 days uptime, then we had to reboot it to fix some issues with hung processes.

Eh...well, here goes

5:51AM up 503 days, 11:40, 1 user, load averages: 0.00, 0.00, 0.00
Sadly, it's going to be shut down soon...friend that owns it is switching hosting companies and giving that box to another friend, who's going to wipe it and install FreeBSD 7

My Baby:

7:24AM up 4 days, 22:14, 1 user, load averages: 0.00, 0.00, 0.00
Going down at the end of the month for sched. maintenance

Another friend's box:

09:26:45 up 92 days, 7:50, 1 user, load average: 0.08, 0.13, 0.16

That's about it for my big iron, I don't have a UPS or anything, so I can't really get good uptimes on my home systems

Well, I'm sorta cheating as these are work machines:

[******@ns1 ~]$ uptime
13:20:12 up 652 days, 12:06, 1 user, load average: 0.26, 0.30, 0.33

On the network side:

GSR uptime is 3 years, 42 weeks, 3 days, 12 hours, 20 minutes

I wanted to post anyway, I never get to contribute to uptime posts so I figured I'd make a big entrance

Well, this one is from work and I might just get the opportunity to work on it one of these days:

Uptime is 3734 days, 15 hours, 51 minutes

Take my word, this box is starting to fall apart and I'm just hoping we have it under contract with Cisco. But yeah, no restart since 1997:
