Not working here...

refreshed and flushed DNS...

Using default Teksavvy DNS servers.

Still page not found.

Is the site still up or is Bell mucking it up?

Edit: Working now

Parking? Ottawa?
Paid parking (expect to pay anywhere from 5-20$). Closer to Parliment the more expensive.
Meters (if you can find one)
I suggest taking public transportation but depends on the situation..
That's why I was asking. I was hoping that perhaps there are "safe" parking areas farther out, and then be able to take public transit into the parliament area. Hopefully someone who knows Ottawa can comment?

I wonder the effect the current gas prices will have on people attending.

Worst case, there is park and ride at major bus stations. It's a flat fee I believe but it's been a while since I looked at pricing.

Well the first of what I hope is the last snag has just hit...

We're being bumped to the 27th from the 15th due to the a couple possible hostile groups being there that day (Tibet and Palestinian Human Rights Groups).

I'll start a new thread shortly on this.

No doubt, this will be a huge factor as to why many people will not make the trek. All the more reason as to why transportation NEEDS to be co-ordinated.

You need to start compiling info on who is planning on coming, from where, and by what means. If there is a substantial amount of people from certain areas, why not co-ordinate buses?

This does not mean Teksavvy has to pay for them all - they can collect $$ from each person, and maybe subsidize a small amount if they can. All in all, I would imagine it would be much cheaper to do this than for multiple people to drive up on their own (considering gas prices)...

Please excuse the duplicate posting, but here are some directions for getting downtown with public transit:

Park & Ride stations are free for all taking public transit. I'd recommend the following stations:
Greenboro (south end): take the O-train north to Bayview, then take practically any eastbound bus to downtown (94,95,96,97)
Terry Fox or Eagleson (west end): take the 96 Hurdman downtown
Place D'Orleans or Trim (east end): take the 95 Baseline downtown
Baseline (Nepean): take the 95 Orleans downtown (note: limited parking, requires permit before 11AM)

I live an hour away and I will not be attending because it's a weekday.

But if I was it would be close to $80 in gas.

It would still be cheaper than what you might land up paying every month for the "new age" of Canadian Internet.

...something to consider on this one!

If gas keeps going up I will not be able to afford internet.

I personally don't mind it all that much as this one is something that will require a lot of planning to make it good anyway!

Can't, it won't allow me... I started another thread instead. The 27th, I edited will be a tentative as there may be conflicts with some of the speakers now. A few of us are meeting tomorrow morning to discuss things before putting a formal date down.

The other issue we have is in trying to figure out how many are going to show up.

Might have to do a show of hands type of situation to see who is coming... need to tell the grounds people.

Crazy... It's impossible to plan anything around this ever-shifting schedule. Third time's a charm I guess.

Perhaps that is how they diffuse all the peaceful demonstrations.... Shift the dates around until no one believes it is actually going to happen that date. Rally? What rally?

Not your fault though R0cky, you're doing what you can, but this is seriously lame.
