Just what I thought, Wimax will become nothing more than an off the shelf "proprietary" fixed p2p/p2m wireless system for specialized applications. All it will do it let telecom providers and other businesses have bidding on wireless equipment since there is now a standard with interoperability rather than 100s of proprietary vendor specific standards. |

| Actually WiMAX is an IEEE spec, about as open as it gets. LTE is 3GGP, more limited and controlled by the telcom industry. WiMAX has a much greater chance of getting on a broad range of devices like WiFi. LTE devices will be limited and controlled by the telcom industry. |
